Magnesia-calcium bricks are also called high-calcium-magnesium bricks. The magnesia is the main crystalline phase, and the magnesia brick manufacturer uses the tricalcium silicate as the secondary crystalline magnesia refractory.

It contains 80% to 87% of MgO, 6% to 9% of CaO, and a CaO/SiO2 ratio of 2.2 to 3.0. Its obvious structural feature is that the periclase is in direct contact with dicalcium silicate and tricalcium silicate, and the eutectic (4CaO·Al2O3·Fe2O3 is finely veined and filled in the intercalation of dicalcium silicate and tricalcium silicate. The porosity is low. The softening start temperature of the load is generally higher than 1700 ° C, and the resistance to alkali slag is good, but the thermal shock resistance is poor. Calcium and magnesium sand is used as raw material, after crushing, compounding, mixing and molding, It is fired at a high temperature of 1550 to 1600 °C.

Magnesia-calcium brick is a magnesia composite refractory with MgO and CaO as the main chemical components. Its main mineral composition is periclase and calcite. These two minerals are high-melting minerals, which do not react at high temperature to form new ones. Composite minerals, each in an independent form, retain their inherent properties. Among them, the calcite has good high temperature plasticity, which can buffer the thermal stress generated inside the brick due to temperature change; the calcite reacts with SiO2 in the slag to form high melting point minerals C2S and C3S, which improves the viscosity of the slag and reduces The penetration of slag into the brick improves the anti-flaking performance of the brick; the calcite can adsorb non-metallic inclusions such as S, P and Al2O3 in the molten steel. Therefore, the magnesia-calcium brick has good thermal shock stability, good resistance to structural spalling and slag resistance, and also has the unique property of purifying molten steel.
