Mold design should try to do the following:

(2) Considering the convenience of changing the mold, it is necessary to replace the mold on the machine.

(3) Considering the pressurization method, thereby improving the uniformity of the density of the refractory brick.

(4) According to the different shapes of the magnesia bricks, it is easy to produce bricks. For this reason, the taper of the brick is considered according to different brick types at the time of design, generally between 0.5% and 1%, but the taper of the brick should not exceed the size range allowed by the tolerance.

(5) In order to avoid the occurrence of spallation of the brick during the forming process due to the elastic aftereffect, in order to facilitate the air discharge in the mud, the vent hole should be reserved for the formwork and the formwork.

(6) The upper opening of the template forming the working chamber must have a chamfer of 4 to 7 mm to prevent the crushing and causing accidents caused by the impact when the pressure plate enters the working chamber.

(7) The direction of compression of the refractory brick should be considered, and the molding pressure should be applied to the portion where the cross-sectional size of the refractory brick is small.

(8) When designing the height of the stamper, the depth of the mud should be considered. The feeding depth of the press forming is generally 1.7 to 2 times the thickness of the refractory brick. Some bricks are too long, in order to ensure the press stroke, two feedings can be used.

(9) When designing the mold, it is necessary to understand the dimensional relationship of the pressed part of the brick press. Such as the size of the slider stroke (affecting the height of the mold), the distance between the main column of the press (affecting the width of the mold) and the size of the table (affecting the plane size of the stamp).

(10) When designing a mold for a complex shape of magnesia brick, a reasonable fillet radius should be selected at the section change, otherwise corner cracks or breakage may occur due to stress concentration.

(11) When designing the brick exiting part of the mold, it should coincide with the center line of the cavity to ensure the smoothness of the brick.

(12) When designing the mold, you should be familiar with the brick type, and be familiar with the different scales and scale ratios of various refractory bricks.

(13) The mold design should consider the method and smoothness of the various parts of the mold, because it directly affects the size of the top brick.
